This has now happened more often in the cold, but happened even more frequently before a few recent updates. And is the reason I installed the VSS module to remote start from the fob (however that kept setting off the alarm, so I disconnected it)

When we go to start the Ex via the fordpass it just software errors out. The car is driven once a day so it isn't the valid failure because it hasn't been driven. I'll try to get a screen shot next time.

Luckily it does this when it is the absolute most convenient /sarcasm. It is extremely frustrating.

App is fully up to date on iphone (fully up to date)
Sync is up to date

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Ford Pass? I needed to do that on my Android phone a couple times when it quit working for other reasons.

I did last year. BUT the car will start later that day or the next day. If it fails, we go manually start the car, then it will work again.

There was a FordPass app glitch the other day and they rolled out a major update this morning. I got a meesage after midnight today. This morning I had to start using the fob and since then it has worked fine. I also noticed that after parking and stopping the vehicle, my Samsung phone said it was still connected for a long time. So it's still a little buggy today. They may have to make another software correction.

I had the same problem with my 2021 Explorer. According to Ford Pass guide, an update was done on November 16, 2021 which apparently caused this issue to multiple vehicles. The recommended resolution is take your vehicle to your dealer and have them re-flash the modem. This can take up to a couple of hours however, my Ford Pass door lock and start -up has been working fine even after my vehicle is not driven for a few days. there apparently is a TSB sent to dealers but no one talks about it.

Ohhh snaps. I’m out on the town but if anyone finds that TSB, I’ll have to dealer flash it

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling Ford pass. I use an Android phone and that has fixed issues a couple times for me.
