Well I will share my big news that I found out today cause I am afraid my tranny bit the big one for the thrid time so tranny numero four has me wondering what the hell I should do.
Curiously I called a local salvage yard to ask them if I could get a replacement for cheap. They told me I could buy a 94 they had on hand for $750 that had a 30 day warranty.
For $900 I would get a year warranty
For $1025 I would get a lifetime warranty on this tranny.
I informed the salesman that I had 35" tires, 4.56 gears and lockers front and rear and he said that it is still covered. I do not have every detail yet but I told him that we will be talking again in the near future. If I should ever have a tranny problem I will call them to inform them, take it to the shop of my choice and they will be billed for it.
WTF I mean this seems too good to be true since for a measly $300 to me I will be gaining a warranty and after searching this site I have heard of people going through as many as 9 trannnys. And the lowest price I have seen for a rebuild is $1200 or $175 more than one with a lifetime warranty.
Opinions?
