I recently bought a 94 XLT and have driven a few hundred miles. New susp, new fluids and filters, etc. I was recharging the AC when I looked down into the bay and saw two cut connectors loose. Then I saw the cable bundle where they came from. There does not seem to be anything wrong, no lights or running problems, but I can't believe it was nothing, either. I am including links to pictures, please someone tell me what was here.

Well that would be where you retrieve your check engine codes from.I would sugest connecting it all back up. But the other round connector with 1 wire is capped off in my 92 X also. But the square is your spout connector and has to do with the setting of your timming.I would connect them all back up and try to figure out why they were cut??? Or you are going to find out why they were cut when you hook them all back up.

Thanks Capri. I whipped out the Haynes manual and found a picture of the EEC-IV diagnostic connector, which was the white cylindrical one. The other larger one is shown as the diagnostic test connector. I am afraid that the guy who sold me the truck (a mechanic) cut them out to stop the check engine light. Could any mechs tell me if I am off track. Why would someone cut the test ports out?

cause he was an idiot!!!

I second that one Bills.
Anyone can say that they are a mechanic. Hell i am a technician for Ford and all i here from customers is,"My friends neighbor is a mechanic and he says........" Everyday i hear that and I always want to say...why is he not working on it then????? Most of the time the mechanic is the INTERNET !!!!!!!!!
