Found my 5R55W Tranny dipstick?

Discovered by accident while searching for best parts prices for fixing my 5R55W.

For $400?? Umm, why not just get some metal tubing and a long dipstick, drill a hole in your current pan and attach it?

Most of the cost goes into the deep aluminum pan.

That's what I was figuring. Most aluminum pans by themselves cost upwards of $200. $200 for an extra dipstick...means it's gotta be gold pressed latinum.

I looked at one of these a while back and contacted Performance Automotive to find out if there were any fit issues with the Explorer. The response was "...the exhaust crossover pipe is very close to the OEM pan and will not clear the deep pan."
