I just love Tx weather. Pop up storms that the weather guys can't for love or money forcast right.

Saturday night we got the mother of all unforcasted electrical storms with nickel size hail at 2 am.

Yes I now my X needs to be under cover but I have no garage and the area under the car ports are piled high with my dead grandmothers things we had to get out of her house on short notice due to the sell of the house, it is how I got my explorer.

Now the hail fell for about a hour. It ranged from pea to nickle in size. I was just sick and knew the car was ruined.

But suprise, suprise. Not a dent or scratched glass.

Now to get the car ports clear fast. Problem, sorting through 70 years of things she would not throw away. It has to be sorted because of valueable papers and items like silver coins.

Looks like my time is full for the near future.

Without tooo much trouble there are people out there that will sift thru and haul that stuff away, they'll pay you for it too. Kind of professional scavengers that resell the stuff at flea markets etc.

But before you make that call,

Pull out and inspect every drawer, including behind them, inspect all books, especially cook books and recipe boxes, same thing goes for any hobby related material such as sewing, like a needle or ribbon box, check all pockets of apparel, especially rain coats and seldom used apparel, check the inside of every vase, pottery and cookware.

Why, because people of your grandmothers age often tucked away a rainy day fund of cash or even jewelry for safe keeping. You would be surprised.

You had good explorer luck, keep it going.

That is good to hear. We got some hail on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Luckily, the Explorer was tucked in the garage. However, our 2012 Durango was sitting outside. No dents on it at all. My neighbors had dents all over their Acuras and my other neighbor had dents on his old Audi that sits outside.

During the winter, 3 days after we got our Explorer, we had freezing rain and trees started falling left and right. A giant tree branch with many branches coming off of it dropped onto the Explorer. To our surprise, there was no damage and the clear coat was fine. During the summer, hail fell on our Explorer right when we were leaving the shopping center. No scratches. You should see the commercials on how tough the Ford Taurus paint is.
