Frame Rails are they the same? *98 and *01 HELP !!!!!

I'm trying to decide what grille guard to get, and I need to know if the front end of the 2001 explorer Sport edition is the same as the 1998 explorer for mountin purposes...:thumbdwn: GRRR

Please help...

I believe so, but I'm not 100%. Gen 2 should be Gen 2. However, most reputable websites as well as the McParts stores are going to have full compatibility listings. They don't expect you to come in and say I want grille guard X12345.

Looks like you're a noob, so welcome. Use the search button and see what guards other people have. Then you might know if one brand is better than another for your application.

For instance, is this just for show? Are you mounting lights? If so, how many? A winch? Do you want areas to attach a tow strap? These are all things you should consider.

The frames are the same from what I understand, but the grill guards would fit differently because of the bumper design.

BTW: I deleted your other thread, please don't double post.
