Good luck. It really is a great car (MFT excepted). If you have no problems with MFT (which many here have not), or if the new update fixes MFT, you should be very happy with your purchase.

Peanut where r u........ You haven't said anything........ Peanut.... Helloooooo

Ok... so I picked the car up and I have detected the following issues. No surprises at least thanks to this forum.

The biggest issue for me is no. 1

1. The lift gate, spoiler and left hand side light cluster are all misaligned. The Spoiler is actually rubbing the paint off the car.
2. Tin roof sound in front of moon roof with raining
3. One of the side mirror indicators contains water after the car is washed
4. The passenger door panel is misaligned

There's a tsb that addresses the tin roof sound. For the alignment issues, take it to your dealer. If its bad enough to rub paint, your dealer will be able to fix it.

Well I guess this thread has turned into a "should I buy an 2011 EX or not" then look what happens when you buy a "2011 EX". Not to say that some of these issues may still exist on the 2012 and so on...

But here is an update on my issues and dealer response.

- Tailgate light misalignment. Dealer managed to pop it back into place - fixed
- Tailgate & spoiler misalignment. Dealer won't touch it until Ford give the ok and instructions in how to fix. The body shop believes some of the trunk liftgates are distorted and may need replaced completely. Dealership says it could be 3-6 weeks before Ford respond.
- Moisture build up in the right mirror indicator. Service department took pictures and sent to Ford. Again they need Ford approval before fixing.

I didn't realize Ford Dealerships require Ford approval before fixing issues!

Still have the tin roof sound and passenger door misalignment to fix.
I haven't heard any A-pillar rattle to date.

Thanks for listening

I believe most items covered under a TSB have to be approved by Ford. I assume that would also apply to warranty items.
Don't forget, Ford is paying the bill.

I would like to add that I am a proud owner of a 2012 Limited Ex with 302 package. I have only owned my Ex since 1/23/2012, but I love the vehicle...
I’m glad to see you’re loving your ride, Bornzo!

...The problems indicated in all publications and experienced by me personally have to do with a very buggy MFT...
Rocketfan,

Have you tried working with Rebecca on the In-Vehicle Technology team (username: FordIVTteam)? She’s extremely helpful!

...Another reason to wait is the burning oil smell many people (like myself) are experiencing...
gpzrider,

I can help by arranging a call from the Customer Service Manager in your area. For me to do that, please send a PM with your contact info, VIN, approximate mileage, and dealer name/state.

Thanks for taking the time to help out, jrmexplorer. :)

zed512,

I still have your Explorer’s VIN from previous messages, so drop a line via PM and I’ll set up a call for you.
