I normally dislike autozone, but they are good for something. If you go to their website, they have repair manuals available for viewing online. I would not consider them as complete as a Haynes or a Chiltons, but they are definilty a good resource.

Do you have a link?

He is probably talking about the Alldata DIY. There is one free page, but to access your entire vehicle costs about $20 a year (IIRC). Each additional vehicle costs like $15 more.

Alldata is ok, but really confusing to a novice user like myself. My brother has access to the alldata pro and I get totally lost in there trying to find anything. Maybe thats just me.

The autozone site does actually have many online versions of the haynes manual on mutliple vehicles.. Much better than the freebe one page alldata.

on the autozone.com website hit repair info on the left.. then choose vehicle repair guides...

I use it all the time to try to answer car questions from people on vehicles I don't know very well.

is there a online manual that you don't have to pay for?

convinced49:

Have you tried Autozone's website? They still offer the free vehicle repair guides (essentially equivalent to Chilton's DIY manuals) if you register with them.

Another source might be to check with your local public library. Many public library systems have purchased subscriptions to AlldataDIY (or similar web sites) for their patrons.

Autozone has no online repair manual for 2002 Explorer. If you live in Michigan, the Michigan Electronic Library (MEL.org) has all Chilton's repair manuals online for free (click "databases"; "C" for Chilton's . . . ). The website somehow checks to see whether you're connecting from w/in Michigan.

My favorite is Identifix. Tons of information. Great electrical diagrams that are also interactive. I'm sure a savvy researcher could find tons of free manufacturer info online. I found several of my college textbooks online in pdf form saving me a serious buttload of money if you know how expensive they are...

I have a link here to download an ISO image of perhaps the best data source - the Ford dealer service publications CD. It covers all 93-94 trucks including Explorer and Aerostar. You will need to burn the ISO to a CD or mount it in a virtual disc program, and run it on a Windows XP or earlier computer unless you have virtual PC. I haven't found anything else with this much data.
