Hello i have a 2000 explorer freeze plug started leaking a little. Has anyone been able to change one without pulling the motor? If so how did you get to it? The one that is leaking is the one closest to the radiator on the driver side.

If that one is leaking, the others aren't far behind. You really ought to pull the block anyway and change them all.

Without looking to see what's in the way in this case, you probably can get to it in the car. You may need to relocate some accessories or something. Remove stuff until you can get to it. One of the swivel installer tools makes all the difference in being able to drive the new one in from some funny angle.

You'll need to remove the serpentine belt, A/C compressor
(do not remove hoses), PS pump and bracket. That will
give access to the plug, and from there it's easy.
