I changed my U-joints in my 94 XLT and now the front right break is making some sounds. I compressed the piston but I did not know that I should have taken some break fluid out. Not sure if that was the problem or not...
But now when I put on the breaks gently its goes " pop pop pop" but when I press on the hard its okay and makes no noise. Some times when I slam on the breaks the truck will go to the left. (the opposite side)
Also I am not sure if this is normal, but when I press hard on the break I can come to the end of the break. I can feel the pedal hit the end. Not sure if I need to bleed my breaks or what’s going on here. Any info would be great!
Thanks

"But now when I put on the breaks gently its goes " pop pop pop" but when I press on the hard its okay and makes no noise." -- did you get the anti-rattle clip installed on the inside pad when you put it back together?

"Also I am not sure if this is normal, but when I press hard on the break I can come to the end of the break. I can feel the pedal hit the end. Not sure if I need to bleed my breaks or what’s going on here." -- Meaning the pedal eventually bottoms out on the floor? If so, you may need to bleed the brakes, or even completely flush the brake fluid. Over time, brake fluid absorbs water from the air, which lowers its boiling point. This can eventually lead to brake fade.

oh no I think this is what it is....
"did you get the anti-rattle clip installed on the inside pad when you put it back together?"

I was messing with that for a long time trying to figure out how it stayed in.. I am going to check that out now! Thanks very much for the info! you just saved me some $$ fer sure

where do I find this anit rattle clip? I am not 100% what it looks like, I got the tire off now and the breaks

I went to Lordco and got some clips. Very easy, and was only $3 and new pins that were $5. Havent seen if it made a difference yet cause now the tire is off I am going to change those NASTY plugs.

Can some post a pic of this anti rattle clip? I did not see anything like that when I did the brakes on my 94.

here is one just like he ones I got
They go on the ends of the pad that slide into the slots

it was $5.11 Canadian

Ah ok. Those were part of my brake pads. They were not seprate parts they were built into the pads I used.
