Hi all, was going to replace the front drive shaft u-joint as I've had one laying around for a while. Before diving in I inspected the whole driveline and noticed there is some play at the cv joint/propeller shaft that connects to the transfer case. I was wondering if there is any benefit of replacing the entire shaft, or just save some money and replace both u-joint end and cv end with the original shaft remaining. Everything is original with 240k on it.
I have also been having a low frequency, but very loud, hum with little vibration at pretty much exactly 65mph+, coming from the front end. I have ruled out bearings and tires already. Aside from those and the drive shaft, any ideas what could be the issue?
Thanks
