I am getting an unusual front end noise at higher speeds. It is different from the rear wheel bearing noise we were getting and just had fixed. That one started at low speeds and built up as speed increased. This front end noise doesn't come on until 60-65 mph. It then fades away after 75-80 mph. I would characterize this sound as mid-range moaning/groaning, not high pitched squeal. I have searched this forum and it appears it might be my front wheel bearings, since this is a common problem. However, my symptoms are a bit unusual. has anyone ever experienced noise like this and can confirm the source? Thanx.

Check those front bearings again. I have seen rebuilt hub bearings go bad and make those squeeling sounds a few days after the install.

Thanx for the response. I agree it is probably the front bearings. I was just a little curious given the difference in symptoms from my rear bearing failure (increasing noise with vehicle speed). I was wondering if anyone else had similar symptoms (noise present only in a given high speed range) and if replacing the front bearings fixed this problem.

Looks like I will try to determine which side has failed and replace it. Many thanx for the great DIY stickied on this forum.
