I was driving down the highway at about 70mph and hit a series of large bumps in the road. All of a sudden the front end started bouncing out of control and continued this way for about 3 - 4 seconds till it finaly went away, I thought I was a deadman.

Anyone know what this might be? I have 150k on the truck and have never had the Tie Rods replaced, which is what I think this is. So strange that the bump kind of set off a chain reaction that got the tires- I think specifically the right shaking like crazy and for an extended period of time.

The shocks, Stabilizer end links and Sway bar links are all new. It does not happen on regular roads at normal speed only on the highway going over moderate bumps that are in succesion. Could it be the bearings.

This is kind of an emergency as I need to drive the vehicle daily to get to work and sort of feel as if I am taking a chance.

Plz help :dead:

i would say the shocks are getting air bubbles. did you get a different type of shock? when you go over bumps the air and fluid mix, which causes them to fail for a while until it settles out. that's my guess. suspension isn't my specialty, though.

Thanks for the input.

No, I have had these shocks since June. The vehicle did sit around for 3 days through the Thanksgiving holiday though.

Maybe your right.

Though Maybe I should say vibrating out of control as the wheel shook like crazy.

take it to an alignment shop and tell them what happened and to check the suspension for any loose or worn parts, if they say its ok its probablly just a pitted road? drive over it again:D

another thing is the power steering. have you recently had the wheels off for something and you or the mechanic turned the steering wheel without it running?? if so it means that you have air bubbles in the power steering, have had this happen many a times and it is quite common with X's actually. ;)
