About 2 years ago I replaced the driver seat back lever after it snap off. Couple days ago I noticed that seat was laying a knotch or two too flat and it wouldnt adjust upright the way I wanted. I figured the replacement lever was off. So I ordered a replacement, took the old one off, and the old lever is fine. The seat itself, the metal frame, has torn ahead of the lever which is why the seat back is sagging. I've never seen a seat fail like this, but the metal looks thin here, just a stamped sheet. Anyway, the entire seat needs to be replaced. Instead of looking for a junk yard replacement, I wanted to ask the board if you guys recommend any new, aftermarket seats that are direct bolt in replacements? Thanks

I have this same issue with my seat.. I adjust it forward and it leans back on me after a couple days.

Mine leans immediately. I have the lever set to upright position but the seat back is almost laying down. I'll post a picture of the carnage to the seat. I guess I'll head to a pick and pull but i was kinda hoping this would be an excuse to buy new front bucket seats.

Is this at all fixable short of replacing the entire seat????

I had the same problem in my sport, Broke in the exact same area by the previous owner. I originally welded it and that lasted almost a year but i'm a big guy so i wasn't expecting it to even make it that far. As for a replacement there are plenty of aftermarket seats on eBay and such that will with some modification fit in most any car. However my recommendation will still be to buy a replacement out of a junk yard. It'll be way cheaper and likely more comfortable.

I'm a 460 pound ****** and I managed to break my seat in a few places because I used to lean back against it to get my butt in place. Don't ever do that! Ever! Anyway, to the tune of $400 or so dollars, sadly, I got a repair shop near here to reinforce the entire thing, they welded a buttload of steel into the seat and it hasn't shown any signs of breaking yet! After all, getting a replacement is just going to mean you're putting yet another already defective seat inside, so why not reinforce the one ya got? I mean, just look...

Damn that's a scary video. The seat is poorly made. I'm 260 but even 500+ the seat should not snap like that.

Yeah, not only does your neck snap back but the knees of whoever's behind you are, to be vulgar, ****ed. I sure hope I don't get rear-ended anytime soon, or even the reinforcements might break :(
