2005 Ford Explorer
Hello, Im a new member. I drive a 2005 Ford Explorer.

I do some offroading from time to time, and I want to get some kind of skid plate for the front of my explorer. I want to stop snow, mud, ect from going up into the fan and radiator. I tried to look if I could buy one, but I cant find one.

Can any one help.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Explorers.

There's RCI that has a nice one for 1st and 2nd gens. I don't know what is different about the 3rd gen to know if it would work. Hopefully someone that knows could chime in.

Otherwise, you'll probably have to make one.

Welcome to the forum!

You'll most likely have to make one. Shouldn't be too bad, I know someone who use an old street sign for it.

I too have known people who have used "old" street signs for it.

Look in your area for metal fabricators or welders (craigslist or whatever). Or a metal supply to make your own. There are many rigs on this forum with tons of fabricated stuff because it wasn't available in a catalog.

Ok, thats what I figured, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks
