I am a new Explorer owner. I have a 05 XLT V6. I notice when I go over speed bumps, a loud squeak coming from the front end. Is this normal?

Sway bar bushings...Grease them.

Oh, and search.

thanks

Lived with mine for 80K+ miles, wasn't that bad. Last week hit the bushings with WD-40, noise gone. Took < 1 minute. Should have done 5 years ago.

Thanks for that...
I just went under my Explorer to apply the WD-40. Squeaking is gone, poof!! KazzAAM!

My 2005 Explorer XLT 4.0 SOHC started making those squeaking noises two years ago. I could not understand why the took away the grease valves for lubing your vehicle ? I still don't. Does anyone have an explanation for that ?

The reason those are gone are so you go back to the dealership to have the bushings replaced. The more they can have you keep spending at the dealership the more they make.

And...
The WD-40 only works until it dries out again. Then it will start squeaking. I only tell customers to do that as a temp fix if they cant stand it. I found the WD-40 worked only for a week or 2 (on my 05) before I have to spray it again. You will ultimately have to replace and grease the new bushings.

Here's a how to on replacing the bushings. Use lots of grease.
