Since I upgraded to 31x10.5 15 LT Pirelli Scorpion ATs I have had a problem with cupping wear on the inside of the front tires. This problem started immediately upon my putting the bigger tires on last August. My brother, who is also a tire store manager and a former mechanic says that the wear is due to the increased weight of the LT tires and that there is not much that can be done about it. I have trouble believing that nothing can be done.
I have been rotating the tires regularly and the wear has been occuring on all four tires. So it appears to be more than a tire balance problem. I have Monroe Reflex shocks which still work great, so I don't believe the shocks are the problem. Finally, the alignment is dead nuts to spec.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of wear since going to bigger tires? Anyone aware of any alignment adjustment or suspension modification that will compensate for the bigger, heavier tires?
