Hello all,

I need help with diagnosing a problem I am having with my 2003 ford Explorer. We think it is the transfer case but here is what it does; the sound it makes is similar to riding over very small speed bumps and a humming noise. It doesn't do it all the time but, when it does do it, it seems to get worse with desceleration. Please help! :burnout:

Could be tranny, transfercase, gear noise from the drive axle, one of those things that's about impossible to diagnose via texting...

Get it up on strong jackstands, or bring it to a shop and have them put it on a rack where they can run the vehicle in the air to listen underneath to where the noise is originating from.

Welcome to the forum and best of luck with your situation:chug:
