I am sure I must be missing something real simple here. How do you get the fuel filter off? I have a 99 EB V8. And I want to replace the fuel filter. There are metal clips on each end, they are easy enough to remove, but then what? The filter will not pull out of the fittings after removing clips. Can't see any thing else holding it in. The instructions in my Chiltons are for a completely different type of filter contections than what I have. Any help would be appreciated.

they make a tool for that. You can find it at napa or pep boys or pretty much anywhere. Basically its a tool that looks like a pair of pliers, you slip it over the hose portion of the fuel filter but under the fuel line, and it releases the clips on the inside of the fuel lines.

yup, ya just need the special tool. after i did it once on my old 91 sport, i always pay my mechanic to do it now (got the ol' "gas in the eyes" treatment; you can imagine how much that sucked :p )
