Since i have installed a new pump/sender my guage at full only reads a little above 3/4 and empty when theres 4-5gallons left... i filled the tank and metered sender im getting aprox 125 ohms.. 20ohms below spec... my guess is the aftermarket sender is defective or no calibrated.. anyways, was wondering if i could get the 20ohms i need with installing a 20ohm resistor inline, would this work? i know empty is 22ohms.. so i should still be able to get an empty reading?

Thanks!!!
as always everyone is a great help

If you install the 20 ohms in series, it will never read empty. I'd rather keep it the way you have it unless it reads very close to zero ohms at empty. What I have seen in a specification and what I measured when the unit is out is 15 ohms empty and 170 full. Don't really think 20 ohms will raise the gauge much at full. Think the only thing that will help is some bending.

Anyone every try bending the rod with a long pair of plyers threw the filler hole on the side of the tank? dropping the tank again is a pita

Thanks for the info!! i appreciate it.
