Can anyone tell me where I can look into in getting bigger (24 lb) injectors for my xplorer? Planning on upgrading MassAir in the next month or two. Went to Vanir Tech. but there site mentions that they no longer offer Ford V6 parts. Where can I go?

First of all, I'm not sure you can _fit_ 24 lb injectors in there...

The stock ones, I believe, are 17 lb. You can fit 19 lb injectors, but 24 lb ones? I'm not sure if they'll fit without some mods.

Stock are 19. 24s should fit without a problem as long as they're made for these motors or the 302.

Thanks you guys for the info and things but I have known what was stock injectors and that 24lb will fit, I just don't know where I can purchase them now. I was going to purchase them from Vanir but...... and I came across another place named Central Coast Mustang that supports 4.0 Liter performance parts but after weeks of waiting for them to respond to my e-mail I sent to them I have been discouraged from them. Also since we are on the subject of bigger injectors, let me ask this. Would I need to purchase a bigger fuel pump? And where would be the best place to purchase one at?

Thanks again for the help.

You shouldn't need the larger fuel pump unless you do nitrous, blower, or a really aggressive cam. But that leads me to my next question: why do you need 24# injectors? I've been running stock 19# injectors with a larger fuel pump and an adjustable FMU for 2 years without any problems from the injectors. Soon I'm gonna upgrade the injectors and MAS though.

Exactly Alec, Why? You don't need larger injectors on a naturally aspirated 4.0. Yes they have 19's, and yes all bosch style Ford injectors will interchange with them.

A better upgrade, as before mentioned, would be a mustang intank fuel pump. Like a 155lph or at VERY most a 190lph. Don't go 255lph because the stock lines can't handle the added flow and usually cause the new pump to break down internally and go out within a month. This will keep the fuel volume at the regulator constant and therefore give your 4.0 the fuel it needs under loads.

Vanir has gotten completly out of the 4.0 business. Central Coast or 4 liter Performance has always been a joke for the 4.0. Bad service, bad parts, and terrible customer service is whats to be expected from these guys. The new 4.0 performance, note not 4 liter ;), is a up and coming 4.0 business that will cater to both the OHV and the SOHC. It will be more then a bolt on performance center though, offering complete short blocks and other internal engine components along with a varity or heads in different stages of performance. I know they havn't lauched their site just yet but I assure you it will be soon. Keep an eye out for www.4.0performance.com

Later Doug904.

Alec,
Thank you for advice and thoughts and to answer your question; the bigger injectors are to match a longer MAS. This will also help me later when I bolt on a Supercharger or Nitrous.
Alec I am the one that had e-mailed you a week or two in concern of your BBK and Zex setup, if you recall.

Doug904,
I have been reading alot of you in forums about your thoughts and concerns. I am planning on a 190lph but if I can benefit out of just 155lph I would like to do that. What would your thoughts be on that also keeping this in mind that future mods as supercharger, cam, and etc... will follow. I also would like to ask you about your Vortech. How well does it perform? I have experienced the vortech in many different V8's and very please with its performance. I looked on there website and only carry systems for the 91-94 explorers you think that the same system will work under the hood of a '96? I have been looking highly at BBK's because of the features it offers. I have recently e-mailed Alec and spoke with him about his setup and his comments on it was great and that is what I am planning on going with right as now unless otherwise I find something better to grab my attention. I like the looks of both roots and centrifugal superchargers but the questions I am trying to get answered are performance, engine life, and etc....I am guessing you know what I am saying, so which one? I have read alot about the roots blower being better for the engine.

Thanks for all the thoughts and help.
