I hope someone can steer me inthe right direction. I have a 2002 X with 117000 on it. Everything was fine with the X but I decided to tune her up before taking ot for inspection. I changed the plugs, belt. fuel filter. air filter. Well I take to my favorite mechanic. Everything gets done. I ride down the street and it won't get over 30 becaue it starts to act like it antes to die. I thought maybe the MAF was dirty. I cleaned that. Still the same thing. Take it back and come to find out one of the spark plugs was cracked. Problem solved so I thought. The next morning U go out to start her up and now I have a problem starting. If I turn the key to start it turns over strong but won't catch. If I cycle the key about 5 or 6 time she will start right up. I took it back and the did a pressure test said it was fine. I asked then to check the pressure when I turned the X off. They said the pressure went right to zero. Is that supposed to happen? Also at idle the X runs rough. I heard that it could also be my IAC is bad because the computer looks at that value to determine how much fuel is delivered to the rails. Or could it be that the pump is not sending enough fuel and that means the pump is going bad? I don;t know. I am laid off so I don;t have money to throw at the . Did or does anyone else have this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If everything was running fine before the "tuneup", then something happened at that point. I would suspect a vacuum hose or wire was pulled loose, or something installed incorrrectly. But if it was my SUV and I could not solve quick and easy, I would give it back to your mechanic and tell him that it was running good, and now it doesn't, fix it.

the pressure should not go to zero it should hover around factory idle psi and actually go up a few psi after shut down. im having the same issue with mine without the hard starting problem have you found a solution yet?
