My check engine light came on recently and the codes displayed were that of O2 sensors. I had all 4 replaced and the check engine light is still on and now the idle surges very bad for about 30 seconds and then smooothes out. The check engine light codes are still for the o2 sensors, but I am suspecting a bad fuel pressure regulator. I have a 96 v8 and wondering if anyone has done this before and how difficult it was.

Thanks,
Ron

Well, after 4 O2 sensors, maf cleaning and a new fuel pressure regulator, I still have the check engine light on with codes saying "O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction".
The fuel pressure regulator fixed the surging idle, but what in the heck is wrong with this thing? Somebody please help me, I am running out of ideas and money! What does heater circuit malfunction mean?

Did you reset the computer??

Yep, reset the computer with the OBD-II computer. Anyways, I figured it out. I spent about $250 for a bunch of stuff I did not need. It turned out to be a 29 cent fuse that was blown under the hood compartment. It took me 3 hours what ford could not figure out in 24 hours. This whole thing has been a nightmare. Brought the truck in for O2 sensors because if you have seen them on a V8 then you will understand. Well they ended up breaking the catalytic converter assembly($545). After a whole lot of *****in they replaced that for free. Anyway, be sure to check fuses first, I learned the hard way!
