Hi folks last week she started running and idle rough. I have gone over all the vacum leaks the tran o/d was leaking plus tranny fluid. I have not tightened the intake manifold yet but check with soapy water for leaks.

I changed the plugs cleaned the IAC the plunger wouldnt move freely. It runs much better but I still have the rough idle. Its more like it bumps then smooths out for awhile then it starts bumbin. its not as severe with the new plugs.

I check the fuel pressure and its at 32 at idle with vacum off it about 40 more like 38 and it held pressure for over 7 min without droping. Should I change out the pressure regulator anyway?

I got plugwires on order will but those on when they get here.....

any thoughts on trouble be grateful..........

According to FORD, fuel pressure should be between 35-45 psi at idle increasing t0 40-50 psi with vacuum removed from the Fuel Pressure Regulator! Perhaps your fuel pump is getting tired? Check your fuel filter also!

Hope this helps!

rough idle

It was inspects with the Haynes 30 to 40 vac off 40 to 50.
It would raise to 36 when i raised the rpm abit.

The filter was changed a year ago. I also check the EGR. It would hold vacuum and diaphram moved.

It has about 67000 miles on it.
