2004 ford explorer sport
I have a 2004 ford explorer sport track and I got a check engine light on when i had the code checked i was told that it was the Fuel Pressure Sensor. I got the part and replaced it but not fuel leeks around the 2 bolts. There was no gasket on the part I removed and the NAPA auto part person i spoke with said that there is no gasket for that part. I am not use to working on an engine this new and would like some feed back on what could be causing the problem.

Maybe try taking them out and tightening them back to the proper torque spec again? Check the quality of both the male and female threads. It never hurts to clean out the threads with a towel and/or compressed air since there could be crap keeping it from sealing tightly.

O ring seal

If the sensor on your Sport Trac is the same as on a 2004 Explorer then an O ring seals the fuel pressure sensor.

The O ring is a very tight fit and should be lubricated prior to insertion or it will be damaged when inserted and leak. You have to wiggle the sensor to get the O ring to go into the port. You can't just tighten the fasteners.
