Fuel tank sensor ???????

last night i stopped and got gas... i was at 1/2 a tank, and i put 10 GALLONS of regular gas in the tank. when i turned the truck on the gauge still said 1/2 tank. and this morning when i turned my truck on it said 7/8 tank. it took 12 hours for it to register that much fuel.

has anyone had a problem like this with there 3rd gen ????

also how many gallons of gas do 3rd gens hold ??? i assume about 22 ?? but not sure

should i have the fuel sensor looked at ????

Yup, this is a known issue with the 3rd gens,
I've also filled the tank and had the gauge read as empty.
I'm pretty sure there's a couple threads on it over in the stock 02-05 section.
I haven't bothered to try to fix it, as I keep enough fuel in the tank and it normally doesn't take long to come up to the proper level while you're driving around.

Yeah happens on mine and my moms too
Mine takes a good 5 10 minutes to move ... then it moves up while i drive (YAY!!) lol

Our tank is 22.5 Gallons

I wouldnt bother with it unless you arnt good on keeping track of how much gas you have. I dont really need the gas guage ... i just reset my odometer every time i get gas and ill know when ish to get more
(my guage sucks at registering gas)

Thing will stay full for 4 days then itl drop to 3/4 then 10minutes later to 1/2
