Another Gabriel ?. Everyone is talking about VST's. What does that mean and where do you get them. I checked out Wrenchead.com for them they list the Sport Ryder (which I have from my previous post) and the LT but nothing about VST. By the way the same shocks Wrenchead lists are cheaper at Autozone.

Pep Boys

I think it's something like Variable Staging Technolgy. They react with different (staged) firmness depending on the severity or impact of bumps, etc.
About $18-$20 each. I like 'em.

Where did you get them?

Sorry guess I didn't see the Pep Boys the first time! Tried to delete my reply but it wouldn't let me.

Anyway how do you (or anyone)like the ride of the VST's. Not to happy with the Sport Ryders. Smooth on city streets going at low speeds, kinda bouncy on highway doing 75! Don't think I would recommend them.

Pep Boys are not on my top 10 list here lately. Wanted to buy Ventvisor Bugflector 2. They don't have any on the shelf or in back, but the damn computer says they have one, the moron behind the counter checks the computer to manually order it but guess what? Can't cause its a regularly stocked item and it shows one in stock. So he doesn't have one to sell me, and can't get one until he sells the one he doesn't have, or they do inventory and someone adjust the qty to 0. He just shrugged his shoulder and asked if I had checked Advance Auto across the street. You have GOT to be kidding me! At that point I had to choose to demand to see the manager or just walk away. I walked away. I knew I would cause a scene if I got the manager over there! I have been trying to find somewhere else to buy one but can't. I'll probably end up back there eventually.

kebber,
I got my VST's at autozone for about 20$ each.I'm pleased
with them, I do alot of highway driving (75-80mph) and have a smooth ride, not bad around town either.

I put VST ( stands for velocity sensitive technology -similar to sensatrac for monroe's ) on my 94 a year ago. Paid $25 US at JC Whitney .Good shock around town or on the highway. Best for the money for sure. Lifetime warranty as well. Combined with the Michelin LTX M/S tires I put on ( through the recall ) ride is much improved over OE .
