Based on some very favorable reviews here on the forum, I ordered a set of Bosch Platnum +4 plugs for my '96 4.0 XLT. I didn't bother to do all my homework, though! When I opened the box and saw the 4 pronged claw-like end on these things, I realized I had no idea how to gap them! Or are they not gapped at all - just use them as they are?

Er, ummm... I just turned the box over and saw "Never requires gapping." Feel free to return to whatever you were doing before I made a fool of myself!

for future reference, regular single electrode platinum plugs should never be gapped either. you take the chance of chipping the platinum off the tip of the plug and then you just payed $10 for a $2 plug. and it will affect the driveability of some of these newer extremely touchy vehicles.;)

The 4 point and 2 point plugs from bosch don't need to be gapped however, single point plugs should be checked for the correct gap and adjusted when necessary.
