gas guage light

My local ford dealer wants $155 to change the gas guage light. Is this a difficult job? The dealer said the entire dash has to come out to replace the bulb.

The dealer is correct in that most of the dash does have to come off. However, it's pretty easy from what I hear. Go to the review of the white face guages on this site and that should give you an idea of what's involved. There are many other threads about burned out dash lights, do a search.

Did the job in my driveway at a cost of $12.50...

(1) 6 pak beer
(6) Red 194 bulbs
(2) Blue 194 bulbs

Start at the AC/radio panel and work your way up and left.

Careful with gear selector linkage

Will need some small nutdrivers, and I think T-15 driver if I remember correctly
