Ok, so we have all read about the difference in the 5.0's and 4.0's though the years and the difference in gas milage. Now, for the newest Gen Guy's let's start a new debate!

Who gets better gas milage 4.0 sohc's or the new 4.6's?

probably the v6... al ot still depends on variables though... a guy hotrodding a 4.0 will get less mileage than someone who babies a 4.6

I have an O1 S0HC and I get arround 18mpg w/ KKM Intake, Gibson Exhaust, Apten 93 chip, on 275/45-20 tires. Mostly Hwy Driving. Like to get on it, on the on ramp & anytime I am arround a fun vehicle to race.

what does the factory stickers say they get mileage wise?

4.6 mpg

I can usually get about 14-17mpg in the city depending on how hard I drive. I dont do much highway driving so cant help ya there. Keep in mind that I drive faster than the average bear.

My dad has a '02 4-dr 4x4 4.0 (3:55 gears). He gets 17-19 MPG on short rural trips (driving 65). He can get in the lower 20s on the highway. Wind and weather have a big impact onall of us ....

I get around 11 mpg in town but I think over 20 on the highway. I hope my intown mileage goes up as the car gets more miles. I only have 1100 on it right now.

good lord Ryan, quick hot rodding haha. Ive never gotten 11. Not even when brand new... and I DID run it hard lol... As for road trips, I just did about a 1000 miles over the last month, and goin 90-95 on the interstate got me about 17 mpg or so... prolly woulda been better if i dropped the speed by about 30 mph haha. Oh well, then the trips woulda took longer haha.
