OK HAVE GAS, WELL I CAN SMELL IT. BUT NO FIRE IN THE HOLE. So which next the EEC or the Coil pack? I plugged-unplugged, MAC, IAC, ETC. and tapped them all with a hammer. #1 tool. still nothing. just cracks. I have 173K and no history of timing belt or is chain on these? out side of pulling a plug, how can i rule out the belt? Time like these i miss the good old round caps . Thanks gang.:p :p

There is a crank sensor pickup on the harmonic balancer and these eaely ones have the ignition module just behind the passenger side headlight. Pulling connectors might fix a bad connection. If I were guessing an ignition problem, it would be the crank sensor. At least it is the cheapest thing.

Sounds like a start. Not up to date on all these electric things. So up under the front look for a wire w/eye on the main pulley? So you would go with EEC not the coil.
