Gas Price....

Guys,
Don't forget to calculate the added distance if you have larger tires (31's for instance) and never re-calibrated your speedometer. If you had 235's stock and went to 31's, you are really getting 10% more miles than your odometer reads. It also means you have more miles on your truck than your odometer reads...:)

FME....True i never thought about that, i went from a 225/75 to a 31" tire, so if my math is correct, i went almost 260 miles on that tank of gas!

Which is a 1.7% increase in gas mileage

To you guys who arent getting as much in your tank as everyone else, there was a thread not too long ago that had to do with variances in how many miles you could get per gallon. There was a certain method at the pump, you fill it up, and whenever it bumps the nozzle to off, let it set for a couple minutes in order to settle, then resume filling, wait, fill some more, etc. Or you could set the automatic thing on the nozzle to go really slow. I believe that is how it was done.

Gas has been predicted to reach $3 a gallon this summer. OUCH

3 bucks a gallon aint no biggie when ya get like 10-12mpg....
Pete

I think I'm gonna start walking!

What gets me is how they will have an article in the newspaper entitled "Gas Prices Expected to Soar"...and then like magic, in the next few days the gas prices go from $1.30/gallon to $1.60/gallon. It's like the distributors read the paper and then say, "well, now that they've been warned, we can jack up the price..."

I hear it's a supply thing but I never believed in economics or cosines, at least that's what I told an economics professor in college...ehehe

Hey you lucky guys!
A couple of bucks pr. gallon isn't too bad compared to the Norwegian prices. On my last tank I paid abt. $1.16 pr. ltr, which would be abt. $4.4 pr. gal...! That would be roughly $95 for a full tank..(if it's like ...dry)
And we actually export gas to the rest of the world! But then again, we have like 80% taxes on the gas.

well last week the gas price at the pump when i filled up was $1.39 a gallon. aldive, i would suggest putting your boat on a trailer and take it to a gas station to fill up since the marina charges more for the gas and they don't even have to pay road tax on it!! but then i saw your boat and laughed at the thought. little too big for the explorer to pull, hunh :)

Got gas last night...

Went up to $1.54/gal. Two weeks ago I only paid $1.39. It better NOT go up to $3.00/gal or my X will be sitting in the driveway (w/ ME in it!) If you all have checked out my pics...you know we have nothing BUT trucks to drive at our house! Jeesh....I'll have to take a second job (@ 7-11, so I can walk) to pay for my gas to get back & forth to my day job!
