gear question/s...

i am trying to figure out my gear ratio. i know its supposed to be labeled inside my driver side door but both the stickers are eroded and unreadable. i have a 2000 sport ohv and its a 5 speed manual. i am trying to find this out because i am looking to do 32's or 33's in the spring after i am done the 3" body lift, tt, 4 door leaves, aal's, and shackles. i have all the parts except the shifter extension. but i really want to know my gear ratio before i do all this work. if anybody has any input that would be great...also any input running 32's or 33's on the ohv engine. p.s. I use the search button quite often and i couldnt find anything...i dont like unnecessary posts either...

There should be a tag on the diff cover itself. As for running 33's with the OHV its fine i do it with 4.10's. Anything less than 4.10's though and i wouldnt run 33's.

thanks. the tag was very very eroded as well. i did a search on some or the numbers and none of the code makes any sense. this is probably because some of them are wrong. it was ver difficult to read but this is wut i got...

Once again could barely make out the number...if anybody could make anythig of these that would be great.

the codes you posted seem kind of strange...idk for sure but maybe clean off the tag a little? i'm guessing it just looks like different numbers

edit: check right before the 10, sounds like you have 4.10 gears if that 10 is in fact a 10. gear ratio comes right before "88" (8.8 rear end)

yeah i had axle code 42, open 4.10, factory
