i found out today that my 91 x has 4.10s in it from the factory,could some one explain why they have such a low gearing in them from the factory,did mine have a towing package?just curious was getting ready to order gears today but looks like i wont have to.

Congrats. Very few had 4.10's from the factory, or at least not as many as had 3.27's and 3.73's. Some had such low gearing since it was still very much a truck, and lower gears helps with towing and gives a better crawl ratio for off-road. The tow package isn't gear related, even models with higher gears had the "tow package" which sometimes was nothing more than "super engine cooling"..either a heavy duty radiator, fan blade with more blades, or something else.
 






Where/how did you find out your '91 had factory 4.10 gears?
 






called the ford dealership with the vin number and the parts guy was able to tell me.
 






What's the code on the driver's door jamb, under "axle code"?
