98 E 5.0 AWD with tow package. 3.73 rear end.
The transmission sometimes doesn't want to shift into third, and sometimes overdrive. Rarely, mostly when cold... but in my experience cold issues are usually leaders to bigger problems. I do have a bit of 2-3 flare sometimes. Question is simple really. I'm not asking anyone to particularly solve any problems I guess.
1. Do I need a rebuild kit?
2. If so, which one?
3. Do we put Slick50 (or something better) in our trucks; would that help along with a fluid change, or am I pretty much looking at a rebuild kit sometime soon?
