I was think that i wanted to regear but io don't want to change the front gears (3.27) I would like to change the rear to 3.55 or 3.73 would that make much different offroad.
Or i say screw it and change both. need suggestions

you have to change both. if you use 4wd

Or put front tires on that are 8% (for 3.55) or 13% (for 3.73) smaller than your rear tires Your overall front and rear ratios have to match if you plan on locking your two driveshafts together through your transfer case.

the reason that i asked is I really don't want to open the front diff. Have to rebuild it once and i should have change the gears when i had to rebuild.
