There is a place about 3hrs away from me called national4wd but im looking for alternatives they quoted me $335.00 + tax for warn hubs and conversion kit (good?).Just wondering what you guys do , it would be nice to find a place with good prices without having to ship cross boarder. Anything you know, mail order or whatever will help, THANKS

335 in us funds or canadian?

mine were 215 US funds

335 in Canadian funds, which is around 230 give or take U.S and then we have our lovely 15% tax.

Hello fellow Canadians !!!

Two words CANADIAN TIRE !!!!!

They can order anything from anywhere and don't let them tell you they can't i used to work there !!! Ask for their parts manager if you have any problems !!! Hope this helps..

Guggy's right. I got my Westin Classic grille guard, NGK G-Power plugs, K&N FIPK all from there, and the prices are pretty damn good. You don't pay for shipping and they get it to you within a week at the most. Anything within the province (warehouse) gets there by the afternoon and anything out of the province comes in the next day after 1630hrs.
Oh.....and my Monroe Reflexs came from there too! List is about CDN$70, they sell it at Can Tire for about CDN$50/piece

Hey,
Can I go up in Canada and buy a axle and bring it back to the US without a hitch? I haven't got the slightest clue about any of this so don't treat me too stupid -k-

Studdedx

I don't think you'll have a problem as long as you stay a few days your allowed to buy like $500 worth no prob without paying duty.

Not sure if it's $500 but something like that !!!

Hope this Helps..

Hey studdedx I cant tell you about going the other way but Im close to Michigan and all auto parts are duty free coming back to Canada, give it a try your dollars worth alot here you can usually just call your local border crossing and find out what duties taxes etc apply to what.
hey guggy, plrbear I think its mandatory that you know nothing about cars to work at the parts counter at our Canadian tire it took alot to order my westin grille guard but it was a deal. anyway I was thinkin about the hubs, deal or not, guggys in T.O. area he should know national4wd in burlington should I go for it ?

You said it !!

Alot of those "Parts guys" are fricken air heads.
I no longer work there but i have my CONNECTIONS and someone i can trust.

I don't even want to take a stab at telling you if you hubs are a good deal i have no clue. it's been a while since i have been working there mabey i'll give my buddy a call this week and try and find out.

I haven't heard about national 4wd in burlington but mabey i'll check them out . How are there prices ? Got a phone number for them ?

Hey guggy check out www.national4wd.com I havent bought anything there so I cant say much about them except they are local and the guy I talked to was helpful, you cant miss it, big store south side of the Q.E.W . seems ok for the hubs I guess maybe I will do some more research, dont know if the auto hubs will survive the Timmins trip in August so I will have to do something soon.

Most of the time, they refer to the "parts computer", and half the time they don't have a clue what you're talking about. I just use them for the parts.....i don't take advice...yadayadayadayada. The parts that they get are from the same manufacturers who produce parts for the Explorer (Borg Warner for example).

Oh how you are so right! Canadian Tire is good for getting aftermarket parts for our Explorers, however like many people have already stated, they are, indeed, boneheads most of the time! I bought an entire Canadian Tire automotive catalog from them for 8 bucks CDN! Yep that's right, 8 bucks; you can't go wrong with that!

Peter
