Glue for pop-out side window on 2001 Explorer Sport

Hello, all. I'm replacing the pop-out side window on a friend's Explorer Sport and am wondering what type of glue to use on the front edge of the window.

I've found other posts that talk about using a 2-part urethane glue for windows but these were in the context of roll-up glass.

On this window, the glue is sort of acting like a hinge.

Would a standard, easy-to-find polyurethane glue (i.e. Gorilla Glue) work for this?

I find yellow 3M weather stripping adhesive to work on just about anything. it forms a stong bond yet remains somewhat pliable.
