Good Dual Exhaust

There is one guy on here that ran dual 40's side by side. Troll has true duals also. If you run true duals you might want to consider an X or H pipe. If you run a single muffler it doesnt need it.

I have true duals side by side. They are welded in vertically and hang a little below the frame rails. Sounds excellent with the 40 series. I was told by one shop that it couldn't be done, but I did it and have not had any problems with it since I put them on a couple months ago. Also, I have all 4 cats on and no resonators. There is no drone, tips out the back.

Price?

How much did shops charge you guys to bend the pipes and weld in the muffler? i went to one yesterday and they only carried Dynaflow mufflers( not sure about them, but it says they outflow flowmaster by almost double) The shop wanted $350 to bend dual pipes and put in mufflers. Isn;t that sorta high?
i was thinking more like $200 ...but maybe I'm just way off. I plna to rub side-by-side pipes all the way back with both exiting right next to each other on passanger side out the back. Sort of like the Borla for thr 5.0 looks like, except mine will be tru dual and the borla only has 1 pipe that splits.
let me know if you guys have any syggestions..also I have an oversized tire under the back so hopefully it doesn;t cause any issues. I think it is nearly 32" in diam.

I was quoted at $200 for muffle and pipes. But when I do do it, I'm gonna get a flowmaster b/c they don't carry it. That price sounds really high. Congrats on getting a big tire up underneath. I think mine can barely fit the 235/75 up there:rolleyes:

Well, I'm probably not one to talk on this since mine was done pretty much as a favor. When I first put glasspacks on it, the pipe and mufflers with labor was $100. I got the Flowmaster Mufflers dirt cheap because I was buying a couple sets of mufflers and the guy gave me a real good deal, so basically they were free. I welded in the Flows myself. I think most shops around here charge about $350 though when I was looking around.

Are their any real advantages to running two mufflers vs. just duals to a dual in muffler then duals out? I don't plan to be running a Supercharger or any major engine work so I may just get a dual in dual out muffler.

For those of you w/ the 5.0L where did you have them cut the pipe and start the larger diameter run? And what should I be looking at for size? 2.5" 2.75" 3"?

Thanks for the help

my truck is going in thurs to get the exhaust done. im gonna tell them to cut the piping from the rear most cats, and use 2.5 inch tubing all the way. i have the dual in dual out magnaflow and will use 2.5 inch piping to the tips which are 3.5 out and 2.5 in. i think if your not gonna supercharge, just stick with a single muffler. less hassle and work. dont have to cut or remove anything.
