I have a 2008 explorer xlt..when pushing on gas pedal the traction control system activates and I lose gas pedal..BUT..I activate cruise control and its fine
.what the heck..only code that reads is o2 sensor

Welcome to this forum! It might be an issue with the throttle by wire system. Some scanners aren't capable of reading manufacturer specific trouble codes.
