Well, thanks to the factory anti-theft feature, I still own my stereo and gear, but I've got a broken window. Last night my roommate heard my alarm going off and went out and shut if off. He didn't notice that the window was busted out, but nothing was taken. I do know that you need to open a door to get that to go off, so I'm kinda lucky.
The little window on the rear door (4-dr) is what is smashed out.
Anybody got one laying around or got a clue how to repair it. It is the only window that I don't know how to repair.

First and foremost you'll need to obtain a " big daddy "
rivit gun.
Unfortunatley the rear door glass is more difficult than the front.
Before you do any thing, clean out the old glass. Silde a screwdriver through the window track get ALL those little pieces out. Run that screw driver through more than a few times to be sure.
First get the old rivits out of the regulator. Drill, grind, what ever it takes. This part is the biggest pain.

Take the bolts out of the center guide pull that out.
Put the new glass into the door but do not put it into the regulator just yet. You are going to need it loose for the next step.
Put the center guide back in. This is going to be dificult due to the glass in the door. It can be done, it will just take a little finesse.
Once the center support in in place, work the glass into the tracks. Slide it all the way up with your hand to make sure it traveles well.
Lower it down to the regulator and and line it up in the rivit holes. Bolt the center support in place. Pop rivit the glass in place. Run it up and down two or three times. You should be good to go.

My dad had his 94 broken into a year ago or so, they broke the little window.

I watched the glass man replace it, and I even helped him with his tools etc...

First off, it is a pain to replace, so try the glass place first.

The number 1 arrow points to the piece that comes out by drilling the rivets along the outer edge of the inner door, If yours is bent at all, like the one in the pic, you are screwed for a cheap repair, as that piece costs more than the glass.

The number two arrow points to the piece that is removed by undoing the bolt in the door jamb area of the door.

I don't quite rember how it all came apart, just those were the two areas that let the window out.

Forgot the pic...duh:rolleyes:

Just a suggestion Dan, but why not just replace it with tinted plexyglass?

i had a honda accord that i replaced the corner windows with lexan from work. worked like a charm! free too!

Even easier.

Get it as an assembly though.

Lower the glass all the way down. Take out the two 8mm bolts, take the gasket all the way loose, and work it out. It is a bit of a pain but it is not terrible.
Well with in most diy's ability

That is so funny. I don't think anyone here really understands how really big the rivit gun is you are talking about.
Whenever I help my dad replace a window he just hates it when we have to use the "big daddy".
It is so loud you would think you broke the glass.
I'll have to tell my dad about the name you have for it!!
