I had my Ford Racing 4.10 gears installed today. I absolutely love em. I also bought a MAC rear cover...pretty much is identical to the SVO cover, but not 220 bucks...yikes. I'm still trying to break them in (500 miles) so I can't really speak for speed, but I can definitely tell the truck doesn't have to work as hard. I had hope that it would fix the speedometer error...but no such luck. I'm off by 10-12%. I'll try and post some pics within the weekend of the new diff cover.

How much did you pay for the installation? I'm looking to upgrade.

look to pay like 250-300 for install.

For both axles?

no way you are going to get both done for 300. I just put my 4.10's in and there is a difference. Now with 31's my speedo reads about 5mph higher than it should at highway speed. used to read 10 bellow. I would probably charge 300 for the rear gears and 400 for the front. That is only if you supplied an instilation kit.

$300 is exactly what I paid. I probably could have had it done for around 225, but this offroad shop does awesome work and really takes care to be meticulous with the details. My speedometer is off a good bit because of my larger tires, the gears dont affect my speedometer at all.

wow labor is cheap out there.

300 for both axles? That is cheap. Did you remove the front axle and bring it to be done or did you leave it in the truck? BTW: Your truck looks really NICE! A little off topic but you only have TT and AAL/Shackles to fit 32's? How much did you go with the TT if that is all you have? The reason I ask is I had my '94 originally with spacers and AAL/shackels and I fit 32's but it looks like you have a lot more room in the wheel wells than what I did. Thanks Bob.

you can get your speedometer adjusted for $30 or so, or just do it yourself. Im not sure what it requires though

congrats,
I noticed a big difference in mine when I got the 4.10's put in, in power and Lack of gas mileage.

my truck is only a 2wd so it was 300 for uno axle. As far as the torsion bars go, I've got them cranked pretty good, but by no means at their max. I put an inch spacer between my lower shock mount and a-arm which gives me more travel to make up for the higher suspension. I'd say I probably got 2 to 2.5" out of them...don't really know for sure. The rear got about 3 - 3.5 and sits slightly higher, but that is the way i like trucks to look.
