not bad for ~180 including muffler, *midas* did good work, I would reccomend..
meineke said they wouldn't install mufflers not bought there....
now for the results: probably just me but I think it has a nice low v8'esque burble at low rpm/idle...doesn't seem very loud at all, but Ive been told of a muffler break in period..i dunno, but IMHO it sounds really good!!!! I would reccomend to anyone who has an excuse to buy a muffler!

would a slightly larger tip increase the sound at all, I dont think but I am no expert on exhaust!!

so Flowmaster 40 series non delta is the ****!!!

I liked my 40 series too, but if you want a really good sounding V-8 muffler go with the 30 series 2 chamber or 3 chamber. There loud as hell if you want them to be but a really deep burble at idle.

Hey, I've called some places and they say that the 50 series Flowmaster is much better than the 40. Please post if I am incorrect and all. chow though.

From what I have researched the 50 is not as loud as the 40. I don't think one is "better" than the other. I had a 40 on my 4.0 and loved the sound. Yes, a larger tip will increase the sound level. I had a 2.25" exhaust and it wasn't much loulder than stock. Then I got a bullet tip that made it a litttle louder.

I had to finish off with a nice chrome, but not bling blingy 2.5" tip, helped the sound a little.... not to terribly loud though, but am very happy with the tone thus far, @startup, and low idle still has a nice throaty burble, and a couple spots in the powerband ~1.3k rpms, and ~2.8k rpms have a very cool sounding resonance/throaty roar.....
