i have been thinking of getting a add on remote start put on my 05 ex you know the kind that you use your factory remote to operate what are your toughts on these and if you have one do you like it ? what brand ? how much did it cost you to get it installed ? thanks MA

Remote start kits are a dealer installed option from Ford. They have a contract with CodeAlarm to provide the units. I went with an aftermarket CodeAlarm unit when I installed mine. I'm very happy with it. I bought the remote start unit and the PATS bypass on eBay for about $125 all together. A buddy and I installed it on a Saturday. It's fairly simple and comes with directions. You can also contact CodeAlarm and they will walk you through whatever problems you run into.
