All, I have a 2001 Sport Trac 130K miles. My mechanic is replacing the rear timing chain and had to pull the engine. While it is down, what other components do you recommend that I replace. I plan to keep the vehicle for quite a while so I want to get it right. Thanks.

all seals, gaskets, oilpump, waterpump
(rear main seal, cam seals, valve cover gaskets, oilpan gasket, intake manifold o-rings....)

anthing that breaks, wears if you're trying to cover your a$$

X2 on the rear main seal. And any other leaking gaskets, but if they aren't leaking I'd leave them be. Most of the other external items can be replaced fairly easily. Personally, I'd pull the pan and clean it out and with 130K I'd slap a set of bearings in it.

Valve job and seals need to be replaced.

Thanks for the advice. I am doing everything except the valve job.
