Grease fitting size?

1992 EX 4x4.
Does anyone know what size and SAE or Metric my Ex's grease fittings are?
I have some partial pluged grease fittings and I want to replace them all. I went to Pep Boys and found:
---SAE 1/8" SAE 1/4" and some Metric 1/4".--- They have no grease fitting sizes listed for any vehicle.
My EX is in my sons garage and its not around here and he is away. But I want to go there and do some other work and put the new fittings in also. I didn't want to have to drive 20 miles there to pull a fitting to see what size they are, 20 miles back here to get some and 20 miles back there.
Any help would be apreciated. Thanks.

Well, most grease nipples are provided with aftermarket parts, stock vehicle wasn't given the grease nipple option. What you can do is return to that parts store and ask them to check what kind of nipple is provided with the parts you want to change them on. Then buy them and you should have what you need to change them. For example, if you want to change the nipple on the left hand tie rod, ask them to check the size of the nipple on a new left hand tie rod at the parts store. Hope that works out for you. Dan

Good idea and thanks Dan but my wife was with me at Pep Boys and she just said to me about an hour ago to just buy all the 3 packages (for about $5.00 each) and return the unused ones. Now why didn't I think of that? LOL!

No grease nipple, just plugs...

My explorer has plugs and I was wondering how to grease them with these plugs. Do you just pry the plugs out somehow? Can I put the old plug back in place once it's removed?

NO OFFENSE....but, that sounds like a "typical" woman. Buy, three dresses.....try them on at home......figure out which one(s) she doens't like (the lights are different at home) and return the rest. Oooops.......I mean sounds like, my wife....Nahhha.
