Great forum and help needed!

First of all great forum! This forum has been a great help. Second, I have been experiencing some vibration in the rear end of a 2004 Ford Explorer 4.0L 2WD. The ABS light stays on too. I changed the fluid and used mostly Lucas for new fluid. The vibration stopped except for very rare occasions and the ABS light went off. Later I tore the rear end apart to make sure there wasn't any damage to the gears or barrings. Everything checked out fine so I used the oil and friction reducer it called for when I refilled it. After putting in the correct oil and friction reducer my problems quickly came back: ruff vibration when turning from a dead stop and the ABS light staying on. Any ideas to what it might be anyone? Any help is much appreciated.

You need new clutch packs for the rear diff, ford has tsb and lots of problems with these.

Thanks. You think Ford will still take care of it since it's never been checked by them?

Welcome to this forum! Ford will only repair a recall for free. A TSB is a technical service bulletin.
