Great info about all Ex generations

My good friend Shane (back in CO Springs) just bought an '02 Ex. To help him find out more about his model year, I did some surfing and found a great link that explains in detail the options and changes made in each model year. I thought I'd share. This should help everyone, especially newbies, understand exactly what they own.

I learned from this that the 2002 is the 3rd generation Ex. (The 2001 Sport and Sport Trac are gereration 2.5 )

I also learned that there are around 3.5 to 4 million Explorers in the U.S. That means, according to Rick's membership numbers, that 1 in every 250 Explorers is registered on our site!! WooHoo! I think that's pretty good.

Boasting 210 horsepower, the V8 gave the Explorer a noticeable boost in performance, as well as an increase in towing capacity from 5,000 to 6,500 pounds. Unfortunately, it could be ordered only on four-door XLTs with 2WD.
