Just picked up a 96 4.0 with damn near 290k on it, and after a very, very long day of pulling stuff apart, cleaning it, and putting it back together, it now runs like a top. First car with EFI, and I have always been a hater of EFI, I don't like to have this much computer in my cars, but after becoming extremely intimate with the intake system, I can honestly say that I don't hate it anymore, I'll drop it down to a strong dislike :)
Anyways, most of the stuff I was doing was based on suggestions in posts on here, and I figured I might as well make an account and introduce myself, as I plan on keeping this old beast running for a long, long time.
So far, I'm planning on fabricating my own ripoff's of warrior 153's in addition to the torsion bar adjust, aiming for about 2 inches of lift overall. Cherry bomb glasspack is in the mail, should be here the day after tomorrow, hoping for some nice sounds.

Tomorrow I'm going to make my best attempt at flushing out my power steering pump, in hopes of getting rid of or at least quieting down the god awful noise that reminds me of my grandma's old aerostar. Could always tell when she pulled up because of that god damn pump lol.

After that comes the controversial choice. Upon inspection, the ATF is dirty, but not god awful, but the transmission dip stick was literally rusted into the slot, and I worry for the state of the fluid inside, so I want to address it, but from what i've been reading, there's a solid chance that If I completely flush, it will prompt my transmission to die on me. I'm currently leaning towards often transmission maintenance, pulling the pan out every 2-3k miles and swapping out a few oz of fluid at a time.

Anyways, I digress.
Thanks for having me, and I can't tell you guys enough how thankful I am to have this resource to refer to. :)
