Grille inserts... behind the grille or speed grille???

Okay I'm making my own grille inserts as some of you may have read, but I can't decide if I want to put the inserts behind the grille..... (PIC 1) or in front of it like a speed grille type of thing......(PIC 2) what do you think???

I know I'm late but I WILL have pics of my 98 with the Speed Grille tomorrow.

I love the Street Scenes Speed Grille, I've seen both in person and I think the SS makes a huge difference. Its much more noticeable and changes the look of the front end alot more. Only issue is finding a lower bumper insert piece pre 00. iF you want something subtle, get the first one, if you want it to be noticed, get the SS
